The hotel stay itself was OK but there was a problem with the booking and I had to pay again on arrival at the hotel. Having been told by reception staff that I was not charged for the non-arrival for the faulty booking, I paid for the night's stay, only to find I was then charged for both nights after all. On contacting the Best Western and subsequently the hotel directly, the hotel manager made me feel like I was trying rip the hotel off in asking for a refund for the faulty booking and was quite aggressive. Awful customer service that has left me feeling quite angry.
This is an ideally located hotel that is a short walk from the city centre and Derby train station. The rooms vary in size but can be quite small. They are always comfortable and clean however. Parking is available to the rear of the hotel however the car park is very small and the spaces are small.Overall a good value hotel for an overnight or short stay in Derby.
We got a really good offer, dinner bed and breakfast for only 60 and the food was great! Well worth the money. The staff were really friendly and the restaurant staff were attentive.
Clean and tidy, very friendly staff with excellent customer service. Room was good and comfortable beds. Would recommend as a 5 minutes walk to city center.
Close to centre, Parking available. Helpful friendly staff on check in. Clean rooms with tea/coffee and biscuits. Our room had a fridge for our use. Comfortable bed gave us a good night's sleep. We didn't eat in the restaurant but the area did look inviting, as did the bar. We have stayed here before and will certainly do so again.
