The staff frequently treat the gym as their personal nightclub and blast out the worst music so loud it drowns out your headphones on full volume. This makes it impossible to put on your headphones and tune out the world while you concentrate on your workout. I was assured by the manager this wouldn't happen again, but it does - often. I've had to cut many workouts short including today. The changing rooms are a mess and the floor is always swimming in water. Today, the first locker I opened had an empty bottle, the next some wet tissues, the next someones bag, and the last the remains of someones bag. The changing rooms and shower area smell bad.
Some confusing reviews on here, especially regarding staff. I find everyone as polite and welcoming as you can find. I've been signed up around 8 months so far and never had a problem, great value for money and would highly recommend.
Large lady with red hair on reception very rude, showers stink of sewerage, pool and Jacuzzi full of old Asian men who rudely stare at the women making them feel uncomfortable.Mould and peeling paint in changing rooms and swim area. Car park is full of litter.Gym has been done up last year but slowly slipping in to the old filth pit it used to be.Also a pain to cancel contract.
I really like this gym, recent refurbishment means all the equipment is new and the decor is fresh. The opening time of 6am is excellent for the commute to work, and the gym is also located on the cycle path along the river making it ideal for stopping by on my bike.
Joined this gym about 4 weeks ago. Cannot fault it, the price is reasonable for what you get. It's great to get into the pool after a workout. It has the added bonus of the Jacuzzi and steam room. Great way to relax. The changing rooms are open plan, including the showers. It can get a little crowded when changing in the morning, however, it's to be expected as most people go there before work. I've never had any trouble getting on any of the machines, and the staff have always been friendly.Staff need to address the pool situation. Too many members no adhering to the rules. If you want to walk in the pool. Do it in the right section, not the swimming lanes. I've had to stop swimming because it hasn't been addressed. It's gotten worse.Review was 5 stars, now 4 because of this. I may even change gym at the end of the contract.
