Former bank close to Derby Cathedral, this Wetherspoon pub ticks quite a few boxes. Comfortably busy on a Friday lunchtime with a good buzz about the place. Food standard for 'Spoons, service good and real ales in good nick. Good value for money as usual.
Standard wetherspoons (friendly staff, quick service etc) but the building is outstanding. It used to be a former bank but it's really been spruced up and converted really well! Whenever I take anyone they're always amazed. A must see if in Derby.
Great pub with its setting of an old bank and then couple that with a weatherspoons and you are definitely onto a winner!I would give 5 stars but I have yet to find the perfect pub and the standing order may be close but it isn't perfect unfortunately. I have had bad food come out of here once or twice in my time when I've been in Derby but I still fully recommend it as its an extremely rare occasion for this to happen
Former bank, this Witherspoon pub has lots of room and good beers. The coffee is self service from a top of the range coffee machine which serves anything from flat white to latte, cappuccino and other. It's 1.25 and as many refills as you want in a mug. Lots of people meet here just for the coffee. Good low price food.
Beer served in full pints but I've noticed the level of beer drops significantly once you've taken your drink away from the bar. Be warned. These things look great, but they have a very short lifespan. Pretty much forcing you to replace it after only a few minutes :(
