The company I work for use Capita to book hotels, travel etc. Apart from the very obvious extremely expensive hotels and travel they provide, Capitas representatives have no idea whatsoever what its like to travel on business or stay away from home. For example rail fares they provide are the same as turning up at the station and buying a ticket. They try to get you to stay at the cheapest hotel in the city with no concept of the last thing you want to after working late is walking a mile across town to a noisy hotel. My experience is that the hotels give you the worst hotel rooms because they are paying the lowest price to Capita whilst Capita charge the company the highest rate they can, hence why Capita travel and events profits have increased by 8% to 29m. 29m profit for booking travel and hotel rooms. Use Capita at your peril but strongly suggest you stay well clear of using them unless you want to pay top dollar for the worst travel and hotel experience.
