Atmosphere is busy but relaxed, and the coffee is good... The food is delicious (particularly the roasted butternut!) Good work folks!
The best coffee in Derby. Plain and simple.The kitchen here serves up excellent brunch options and I've yet to have a bad dish. Tips- book ahead for brunch at the weekend as getting a table can be tricky- if you're feeling boozy, try the espresso martini- ask about the guest coffees. They're often very interesting.

I popped into Bear today with my 5-month-old, to grab a quick bit of lunch. It was quite busy, but we had no problem navigating in between the occupied tables to find a free one. There was quite a queue to order (there's only one till for this, so it can cause a bit of a wait), but once I'd ordered my food it came really quickly. Thank you especially to the member of staff who noticed I was breastfeeding and asked whether I'd like her to leave my food on the pass (under the heat lamp) until I was finished: that was really considerate.The food at Bear is delicious, generous and very reasonably priced. There's a good selection of cold and hot food, as well as drinks, and the staff are really friendly. Great place to have some lunch on a busy day, and I will definitely return.
Lovely atmosphere with really friendly staff. Been a couple times for breakfast and lunch and haven't been disappointed once. The food is fresh, and the coffee is delicious! The avocado on toast is a great vegan option, and I love little additions on top. It would be nice to potentially see more options in the future but can't complain with the current offerings hence the 5 stars.
