Some interesting exhibits. However, I prefer old fashioned museums with lots of artefacts on show; there is too much empty space for my liking, though, I know that is the modern way.
The museum and art gallery in Derby is a wonderful asset for the city. The gem is the Joseph Wright gallery which houses the world's greatest collection of Wrights. Take a moment to escape the city for a few moments.

A great small museum and art gallery with local historical background. Contains a cafe with a selection of hot food and drinks. There is a lift to all floors, so entire building is accessible.
Great displays. Joseph Wright's drawings are well worth a gander. More free from options in the cafe would make the visit perfect.
